diorama is done

well. it isnt at all what i started out planning on making, but i think its ok!

monster prom in the clouds

apartment building party!

last night my upstairs neighbors had their 4 loudest friends over and a puppy who runs back and forth and back and forth and they all wore their loud shoes! they went above and beyond having just a running dog over, but one who yelps too! oh, and they all got in a huge fight! i think they express how truly unhappy they are in a fight by moving large furniture. like im a little mad so i slide a desk chair across the floor, but you are soooo much madder so you knock the couch over and push it into the wall. like that. i think they ran out of things to push around so they took it outside. they shouted and hollered for a good 40 minutes. sound just bounces and amplifies with the snow and so many close apartment buildings. it quieted down by about 3:30. then i fell asleep. awesome.
i kind of wish that they lived above bob and his two wives (past favorite neighbors). if they thought dinner conversation next to an open window was bad, hoo-boy this would drive them to have all their witchy and warlocky friends over (with so much pizzahut pizza and mountain dew) to cast spells and give everyone bloody noses!

diorama in progress, etc...

this is a thing i made for a show in february at the fallout. it is for  a show to benefit homeless youth in the united states. carys in hbc at work is helping with it. thats all i know. more info as it comes.
here is photo/scrap book (red leather) album cover i drew on. the white paint pen exploded on my black stretch pants. awesome.

here is the near finished lady i made...

i wasted my day off today. i was working on my diorama and got a bit ocd over the lady i was making. here she is.

here she is after i made her skirt. rocking out to the boss.

this is after adding the hoodie body and sleeves. but before the hand. look, she even has a bandana around her neck.

here the lady is with boobs and the second half of her arms!

here she is with the start of a shaped torso and the hood for the hoodie.

here is when it all atarted to take shape. the start of a body and the head to keep it all in proportion to. i cut her hair. i took her face off with nail polish remover and re drew it. i made her a headband out of embroidery floss and an earring with a dress pin.

here is how this lady starts. i wasted so much time on this lady.

sharing some pictures of 2008

bloody blisters and mismatched socks. fletcher dancing with an umbrella.
pipa and i in the backyard. pipa was getting to be adventure cat in the tall grass jungle.
my favorite little lady on my favorite garbage can.
albino peacock. i had never even thought of them existing! how exciting. it is like a ghost bird. thank you drive through zoo.
my first snow of the season. early november. here is pippi pissed that she runs and has to be on a rope. everything passed the trees just disappears into an amazing blinding white. it was a magical morning.

new years eve. we wore glitter and makeup. here is jessica with our bike pile. then my camera batteries died.

2009 has started

if today was something i could kill i would kill it. maybe i just woke up on the "wrong side of the bed".  i was running late (as-per-ushe) and hung up all my laundry to dry in my bathroom, well, my left ankle of my stretch pants was soaking wet (how does that happen???) and i didnt know that until they were on and it was too late to change. then i forgot my scarf. everything irritated me. i tried real hard to let it not, but it did. i forgot my nametag, again, and wore a blank-write-your-name-on-it one, on my shirt collar. i was real warm at work, but wore a t-shirt with too-short sleeves that show off my armpit hair, so i had to wear my sweatshirt all day. my nametag clip made my neck break out in a rash by the time i was done with my shift. everything is just pissing me off. im trying to make a diorama and it ISNT WORKING HOW I WANT IT TO. now i want to kill it.  it is also really dry and my nose is battling that with snot production x 100. i took a decongestant thing and now i feel weird and irritated. i dont know what the fuck my upstairs neighbors are doing. it seems early for them. it is almost ten and they have been dropping things and hammering things and making all kinds of noise for 2 hours, usually they dont start until after two. i bet their to-do list is like this
  1. buy realy loud shoes, like ski boots or tap shoes to wear around the house
  2. find heavy things to drop from standing on a chair
  3. get some jetalert and stay up forever being loud (or maybe meth?)
  4. hammer things for fun on the floor
  5. have rolling chair races!
  6. get more bad new r&b
  7. get louder speakers
  8. practice drumming on things near the floor that make sounds louder
  9. sleep all day and stay up all night looooong
  10. make a list of top 4 loudest friends and have them over
  11. practice stomping
  12. borrow a dog that likes to run back and forth and back and forth chasing a heavy toy/bone

i have no idea who they are, but if i did i would spit on their car.
i started an apartment composting system tonight. more information on that soon.
on a really happy positive note:
i need new glasses. not dangerous to people who put their faces close to my face glasses. i was going to go shopping for new frames but THEN... a woman who i used to work with came into the store and said "katrina, these are for you, i have been meaning to give them to you for a long time..." and what are they? GLASSES! my last frames came to me just like that. the ones before them, $15 at everyday people. these new ones are old baush & lomb frames. this is them, its not the best picture, but you get an idea. i guess fate has me back at the black cat eye frames. its kind of amazing how my glasses find me.
